Semi-formal walnut cluster coffee table
The clients own and love a collection of both contemporary mid-century pieces in rosewood as well as more classical antique pieces in a range of dark woods. The brief was to design a large coffee table which would fit its classical Georgian townhouse setting and be complementary to the pre-existing pieces that it would share the space with.
American walnut cluster
This stunning veneer, with flowing grain amid burr and pippy clusters, was chosen for the table top for its warm and deep colouring and to supply a good dose of ‘drama’ to the otherwise restrained design
Mid-century nod
Solid French walnut joinery completes the pared back base, with hand-shaped legs showing off a slight flare towards the top, giving a nod to both classical and mid-century styling.
