Adopting a hybrid-craft approach, the spool-style turned bases are initially built from CNC-cut concentric bevelled discs - which can be arranged in a huge variety of configurations - before being hand-shaped and finished on a traditional wood-turning lathe.
Experimenting with form, mass and composition, the base strata of the stacked discs remain visible in the finished pieces, hinting at their method of production in a similar way to that in which core rock samples yield insight into their historical formations over time.
Colourways, base forms and sizing can all be customized if required. The base examples shown here are crafted from black Valchromat.
